DataView Document Imaging and Document Management Software

Among the new and innovative software modules currently being offered by WoodWare is DataView Document Imaging and Document Management Software.  This third-party product has already been integrated with the WoodWare System and is currently in use at a number of WoodWare customers.  It requires a standalone pc server using an Oracle relational database and the WoodWare DataView Interface Module.

Documents from WoodWare and other sources can be stored electronically in DataView.  Most of these will be handled through an electronic file output from WoodWare directly into DataView.  Others (such as signed delivery tickets or picking tickets with handwritten shop notes, for example) can be scanned and indexed to match up with the original quote, order, etc. from WoodWare.  Barcodes can be printed on these documents within DataView to further automate this matching and indexing process.  DataView also provides a means to use "formless forms" and the use of page numbering on some documents (page 1 of 4, page 2 of 4, etc.) when generated through DataView. 

Other documents such as employment applications, personnel review forms, Word documents, letters, reports, and much more can be scanned and filed within DataView.  Each of your applications is saved in a "drawer" located in your "virtual" file cabinet.  Folders within the drawers contain documents.

Within folders, individual document "types" control the scanner settings, assuring image consistency and text readability.  Multiple formats are easily stored within DataView.  Locating a folder within a drawer, or a document within a folder, is a simple point-and-click process.  Your search will provide a list of folders (or documents) for you to choose from.  Documents can then also be printed, faxed, or exported to a CD-ROM.

Security concerns are addressed by your system administrator in the DataView Console screen.  User access and status, parameters for document types, reports, and the available space for images versus the image space already used can easily be modified and maintained.
